John Hutton visits NET Park

Phil Wilson, Labour's Local man and candidate in the Sedgefield by-election invited John Hutton, Secretary of State for Business & Enterprise to show off the success of the North East Technology Park in Sedgefield.

Phil said today:

"This is a global centre of excellence based right here in our area and I am committed to backing NETpark's expansion and growth to bring more highly skilled jobs and industry to our region.

"We have great schools, great universities and a great workforce in this region and NETpark shows that with the assistance of OneNorthEast, and the local councils firms can become worldclass very quickly providing opportunities for our youngsters.

"I will make sure we continue to back the success and growth of NETpark and we hear today of the expansion of Aycliffe Industrial Estate providing 1,000 jobs which is great news.

"This support is in marked constrast to the Tories who would abolish OneNorthEast and the Lib Dems who have no idea about our area and the needs of local people and business."

John Hutton was hugely impressed and agreed with Phil when he said:

"This is exactly the kind of development that needs to be encouraged and nutured, that is what the Labour Government will do and that is what Phil Wilson as the local MP will do if elected on July 19th."
